This begins with a comprehensive diagnostic evaluation and includes feedback about diagnoses and treatment options. Therapy sessions are typically 45 minutes in length and occur on a regular basis, such as once or twice per week and are tailored down over time. Therapy is personalized to your specific needs and goals to help you most efficiently and effectively reach your desired outcome. Typically, many sessions involve exposure which is when you will learn to gradually face your fears, resist compulsive behaviors, reduce avoidance behaviors, and eliminate reassurance seeking.
Intensive CBT/ERP
This begins with a comprehensive evaluation to determine if you are an appropriate fit for an intensive treatment. Intensive formats of treatment are typically offered for obsessive-compulsive disorder, social anxiety, and panic disorder. An intensive format of treatment allows you to get a boost in treatment and gets you back doing the things you need to do (e.g., go to work, attend school) quickly.
This option can be helpful for students who are on a school break from High School or college and want to get feeling better quickly before returning to school. Intensive programs are not appropriate for everyone. Please contact me to find out if this might be a good option for you or your adolescent.
My services are private pay only. I do not accept insurance in my private practice and fees are due by credit card or HSA card at the time of the appointment. Payment is processed through a secure patient portal where you are also able to access invoices and other payment records. While I don't accept insurance, many PPO insurance plans will cover a percentage of the cost of services and consider me an "out-of-network provider." I am happy to provide you with a receipt (called a "Superbill") each month that includes all of the information you need to submit a claim to your insurance company.
I cannot guarantee that services will be covered by your insurance or that a percentage of the cost will be reimbursed to you, as this varies from plan to plan. For more information about reimbursement rates, it is recommended that you directly contact your insurance provider. You can specifically ask your insurance company about reimbursement rate for the following CPT codes: 90791 (60 minute initial evaluation) and 90834 (45 minute therapy sessions) as those are the codes used most frequently in my office.
Due to the lack of mental health professionals who have expertise in providing evidence-based treatment for OCD and related disorders, you may be able to petition your insurance company to partially reimburse you for the cost you are paying in treatment.
Right to Receive a Good Faith Estimate of Expected Charges Under the No Surprises Act
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your care will cost. Under the law, health care providers must give patients who do not have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services. You may also ask your health care provider for a Good Faith Estimate prior to scheduling an item or service. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises
